Pick-Pocketers Really Do Exist

Quick story time! 

So after a full day of exploring Beijing…what I thought would never ACTUALLY happen, happened. Yes, I got pick-pocketed. Ugh. But wait, this is a tale of true luck! Story goes like this, careless little Asian tourist named Sarah gets her wallet stolen, only to find out later that the police actually has it because a random civilian saw the pick-pocketer throw her wallet into the trash can after taking ONLY cash. 

So yes, to get your wallet stolen and then returned back to you in a city like Beijing is quite the miracle. Literally everything (license, atm cards, insurance cards, etc.) was still there…just the cash was taken. I will have to say, I was seriously really lucky that day and I thank whoever had the kind heart to return my wallet back to me.

Day 2: 798 Art District

I absolutely loved this place…one of the highlights for me in Beijing for sure. The 798 Art district is an area of old factory buildings that has converted into art galleries and studios where local artists have been sharing their work. A bit like downtown LA, 798 Art District was trendy and hip…something that contrasts greatly to the traditional and historical city of Beijing.

Shek O Village 

People often forget that HK is not just a big city, but that it’s actually quite a beautiful island. We explored the out skirts of the HK island and found ourselves in the quaint little beach town of Shek O Village where we went to the beach, got some sun, and explored the area to get views of Big Wave Bay and Deep Water Bay.
